Keeping a journal for my kids

I know TIME isn’t something parents have a lot of. There is a lot on my to-do list and often it seems like there isn’t enough time in the day, BUT if your hobby is writing, like mine, you are just might be into spending a little time on this idea!

The idea stemmed from a trip through target when my husband and I happened upon some Star Wars journals. They were adorable and I simply had to have them… I would figure out what I was going to do with them later. Christmas was just around the corner and one evening while we were sitting around the fireplace and decorating our tree… you know being all picture perfect 😉 –  it hit me – a journal I would keep for Superman and Rogue! Keeping a journal even on a weekly basis seemed like too big of a time commitment, so I decided to only write an entry on big occasions and holidays. I started with an entry for each of them on boxing day (Dec 26) and I will write again on each of their birthdays. It’s a fun way to keep a little diary of their milestones and memories that is a bit more detailed than the baby book, and extends longer too – while not being overwhelming. I would love to say I might write in it more, like when they do something, anything really, that I think is worth documenting. Maybe I will, maybe I won’t, and that’s sort of the beauty of the project. I can put as much into it as I can, and at a minimum it will get two or so entries a year. I will give it to them when they are older, maybe 18? And hopefully they will think it’s sort of cool to read through some of their childhood. Things that won’t necessarily be documented anywhere else. So if you are looking for another project (haha!) maybe give it a try! If anything a birthday entry for 18 years would be pretty cool!
